The eighth edition of the Bengaluru Space Expo (๐๐’๐—) 2024 opened

 

At the 8th edition of ๐๐’๐—2024 International Conference and Exhibition at Bengaluru, Shri Priyank M Kharge, Minister for Rural Development & Panchayat Raj and IT BT Department, Karnataka, Government of Karnataka, said, “The state government is keen to setup a Centre of Excellence in space technology, which will be a testament to Karnataka’s unwavering commitment to innovation and excellence. Our goal is to position Karnataka as a hub for cutting-edge research and development, where ideas flourish and transformative solutions emerge.

Dr Pawan Goenka, Chairman, Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe), highlighted that interest in the space sector has grown exponentially in the past four years and the number of startups has increased to 250 in five years. Presenting the theme of BSX 24, โ€œAccelerating Tomorrow: Harnessing the Potential of the Space Sector for Unified Expansion,”

Mr Apparao Mallavarapu, Chairman & Managing Director, Centum Electronics Ltd. and Chairman, CII National Committee, Space, said, โ€œThe space sector was once the domain of national agencies. However, today it witnesses the active participation of the private companies, especially the startups, who are staking claim in every functionโ€”from making satellites to launching them.
