On Feb 25 2017 in a star studded night Yash Chopra Memorial Award 2017 instituted by his friend and parliamentarian Sri T. Subbarami reddy in association with Anu & Shashi Ranjan couple of Indian television Academy was awarded to none other than Bollywood King Shah Rukh Khan.
Maharashtra Governor Sri Vidya Sagar Rao was chief guest along with Actor / Politician Sri Shatrughan Sinha , Smt Jayapradha, Simi Garewal,Padmini Kolhapure, Pamela Chopra & Evergreen Rekha who all not only felicitated Shah Rukh Khan but also praised both Late yashji & Shah Rukh for their contributions to the Indian Cinema.
It was Honorable Governor Sri Vidya Sagar Rao steal the show with his speech spoke positive about Indian film Industry and personalities like late Raj Kapoor and function cynosure SRK also ask film fraternities to suggest Government in Good Governance and Public Friendly schemes.
After receiving award which constitutes Memento with Cash award of INR 10 lakhs Shah Rukh Khan in his speech said this award is very special to me because of Late Yashji who was father figure to him and thanked all the dignitaries for their love and affection towards him.
