The curtain raiser event of the India International Science Festival (IISF) 2025 was held at the National Centre for Earth Science Studies (NCESS), Thiruvananthapuram, under the Ministry of Earth Sciences. Prof. N.V. Chalapathi Rao, Director, NCESS, welcomed the gathering. He highlighted the role of IISF in promoting science awareness and strengthening the research ecosystem in India.
Shri R. Abga, Secretary, South Zone Vigyan Bharati (VIBHA), presented an overview of IISF 2025 and its importance in connecting scientists, students and innovators. Prof. Suresh Das, (FNA, FASC, JC Bose Fellow), Honorary Professor, IISER Thiruvananthapuram, spoke about new areas of scientific interest and the importance of collaborative research. A large number of students from various schools and colleges of the city participated in the event.
IISF 2025 will be organized in Chandigarh, Punjab from December 6 to 9, 2025, with the theme “Knowledge for Prosperity: Aatmanirbhar Bharat”
