Andhra Pradesh Offers ₹100 Crore for First Nobel in Quantum Science

N Chandra babu Naidu Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh announced the reward while kicking off the world’s largest quantum skilling program in Amaravati, organized by WISER, Qubitech, and QKrishi, which drew 54,000 registrations—51% from women.

He envisions Amaravati as ‘Quantum Valley,’ with plans for local quantum computers in two years, a full research ecosystem, and training 1 lakh experts over three years to tap into India’s National Quantum Mission.

Echoing his 2017 pledge for any Nobel, this quantum focus aims to spark breakthroughs in medicine, agriculture, and materials, though some online voices push for upfront research funding instead.
