Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning today need of the hour and Cloud-Based ground system is very Important -Dr.V. Narayanan,ISRO Chairman at SMOPS 2026

International Conference on Spacecraft Mission Operations (SMOPS-2026) today kick started in Bengaluru & Dr.V.Narayanan, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman in his inaugural speech mentioned that now, when you talk about the future, I think lots of things has to go in that for example, artificial intelligence and machine learning, from 10 to 15 years back, it used to be a creative subject, but today, it is a need of the hour and cloud-based ground system, this is also very, very important thing.

He also traced the journey ,mile stones & achievements of ISRO starting from 1962 to till date & also developments in last 3 years from the edition of International Conference on Spacecraft Mission Operations (SMOPS-2023).

Further talked about human satellite program, 65 years back on12 April 1961 of Yuri Gagarin for the first time, when he came into space and he came back. And this week, again the Artemis 2 mission, four astronauts are in the space, I am sure this will be a perfect position, going to come back safely and leading to Artemis 3 for further landing on the moon.

Further highlighted India is in the fourth country to have a rocket to study the sun [ Aditya-L1 ]

Dr Narayanan also complimented accomplishments of his predecessors A.S.Kirankumar , Dr Somanath who were present on the ocassion.

International Conference on Spacecraft Mission Operations (SMOPS-2026) will be 3 days conference staring from today & ending on April 10 2026 with participation from the Government ,Start ups ,Academia ,Industry, Students both domestic & International.
