The Karnataka Government is set to transform the 48.35-acre campus of the Karnataka Trade Promotion Organisation (KTPO) in Whitefield into a world-class trade, exhibition and convention destination.
On Tuesday, M.B.Patil Minister for Commerce & Industries, Infrastructure GoK inspected the campus with India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) Chairman Shri Javed Ashraf and Managing Director Dr. Neeraj Kharwal, and discussed plans to unlock its full potential.
The redevelopment will include modern exhibition halls, state-of-the-art convention facilities, large event spaces and adequate parking. The proposed convention centre will have a built-up area of around 20,000 sq. metres.
Aim is to study the best features of Mumbai’s Jio World Convention Centre, New Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi, and create an even better facility for Bengaluru.
This is more than infrastructure. It is a step towards expanding Bengaluru’s global commercial footprint and strengthening Karnataka as a leading destination for international trade, investment and industry.
The Chief Minister’s Financial Adviser Shri L.K. Ateeq, Principal Secretary-Commerce & Industries Dr. S. Selvakumar, and other senior officials were present.
