Hon’ble Chief Minister D.K.Shivkumar took part in the India–Poland Business Meeting in Bengaluru

Chief Minister D.K.Shivkumar took part in the India–Poland Business Meeting in Bengaluru with Hon’ble Prime Minister of Poland Mr. Donald Tusk and the distinguished Polish delegation.

Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister highlighted Karnataka’s global technology ecosystem and Poland’s strengths in advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence and green energy, emphasising the immense potential for deeper bilateral cooperation in investment, technology, innovation and employment. He invited Poland to participate as a country partner in Karnataka’s Global Investors Meet 2027 and welcomed the proposed ₹80-crore investment by Poland’s TZMO Group in the KIADB Vemgal Industrial Area in Kolar district. Spread across five acres, the project has the potential to generate around 1,000 jobs and introduce the manufacture of smart adult incontinence pads in India for the first time.

The Chief Minister highlighted opportunities for further Polish investments in medical products, healthcare and advanced manufacturing, with a focus on bringing new technologies, strengthening local industries, creating quality employment and supporting exports. He also underscored the Karnataka–Katowice partnership, built on the Letter of Intent signed with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Katowice and Kato.hub, to promote collaboration in artificial intelligence, gaming and deep-tech innovation, including the proposed Karnataka–Katowice Digital and Gaming Corridor. The initiative is expected to create opportunities for start-ups, technology companies and research institutions to collaborate, develop new technologies and expand into each other’s markets. Encouraging Polish technology companies to explore Bengaluru’s opportunities in AI, software, gaming, robotics, smart manufacturing and start-up innovation, he called for stronger partnerships in research, education and technology transfer to generate skilled employment.

Citing Infosys’s nearly 20-year presence in Poland as an example of the potential for deeper India–Poland technology cooperation, the Chief Minister said Karnataka would facilitate Polish investments in Bengaluru while supporting Karnataka companies exploring opportunities in Poland. He identified renewable energy, waste-to-energy, sludge management, wastewater treatment and circular economy solutions as promising areas of cooperation, drawing on Polish expertise to advance Karnataka’s environmental priorities and sustainable industrial development.

The Chief Minister also encouraged Asseco and Polpharma to explore partnerships in IT, software services, pharmaceuticals and R&D, while inviting ORLEN and KGHM Polska Miedź to consider investment and technology collaboration in Karnataka’s energy, petrochemical and advanced manufacturing sectors. Emphasising that investment opportunities extend beyond Bengaluru, he urged Polish companies to explore Karnataka’s districts and leverage the state’s industrial ecosystem.

He also highlighted the role of Poland’s Honorary Consulate in Bengaluru in strengthening business and institutional ties. Building on previous engagements, including discussions in Warsaw last year between Minister Shri Priyank Kharge and Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister, as well as Poland’s participation in the Bengaluru Tech Summit, the Chief Minister expressed hope that the visit would lead to focused investment proposals that both sides could pursue.
