Hyderabad : Under its “Be An Informed Citizen” initiative, Citizens Specialty Hospital has launched its World Stroke Day campaign, “Be A FAST Friend,” to make stroke awareness a simple, shared public responsibility and encourage people to recognise symptoms and seek immediate medical attention.
Featuring familiar faces and easy-to-remember B.E. F.A.S.T. cues, the campaign highlights key stroke warning signs—Balance loss, Eyesight changes, Face drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulty and Time to seek emergency care. Through a combination of physical outreach and digital engagement, the initiative aims to educate people across age groups and reinforce the importance of acting without delay, guided by the principle that every second counts and time is absolutely crucial.
As part of the campaign, the hospital has scheduled awareness sessions at corporate workplaces and gated communities, while educational videos featuring doctors are being circulated through WhatsApp groups to extend the message to wider communities.
Commenting on the initiative, Monsy Mathew – Group Marketing Head – CTSI (American Oncology Institute | Citizens Specialty Hospital | Ampath Labs) said, “Healthcare communication goes beyond creating awareness; it is about making important health information relatable, memorable and actionable for all age group. Through the ‘Be a FAST Friend’ campaign, we aim to simplify the message around stroke and encourage people to recognise the warning signs and understand the importance of seeking timely medical attention. By taking this message to workplaces, residential communities and digital platforms, we hope to make stroke awareness part of everyday conversations. “As a healthcare brand, our responsibility goes beyond communicating the care we provide. We aim to empower people with clear knowledge and accessible awareness about health essentials and preventive measures, enabling them to make informed decisions when it matters most with multiple age groups and different strata.
