The 12th Bengaluru International Film Festival [ BIFFES ] 2020 for over from February 26 to March 04 2020 with opening ceremony done at Sree Kanteerva Indoor Stadium with Chief Minister of Karnataka Sri BS Yedurappa traditionally starting with lighting the lamp.
other dignitaries with him on the dais were renowned producer Boney Kapoor , Rocking Star Yash ,Veteran Actress Jayaprada , Singer Sonu Nigam, KFCC President Jairaj, KCA Chairman Sunil Puranik Actress Aditi Prabhudeva & other Festival & I & B Minister officials.
The regular screening of over 200 plus films were screened at the venues PVR Orion Mall , Navarang , Dr Raj bhavana & Suchitra Film Society .
This year Academy Award winner South Korean Film “Parasite” was Hit among movie buffs which was house full in all the three shows it had.
The 4 time Golden Lotus Award winner for films Padmasri Dr Girish Kasarvali who after long years gaap came out with film ” ILLIRALAARE ALLIGE HOGALAARE ” based on Jayanth Kaikini story was premiered & under competition section which had also garnered huge response.
Veteran Indian Actor Ananthnag retrospective of 6 films were screened and he also participated in conversations held & was happy to response to my question of why did he accept doing commercial villain role in V.Ravichandrans magnum ” Shanthi Kranthi” for which veteran said producer N.Veeraswamy was particular of me to be in the cast during which only readied written characters apart from protagonist was antagonist which i accepted.
Many Seminars & Master classes were also done in which the Making of Disneys The Lion King by Biren Ghosh was jam packed.
Valedictory function was done at Vidhana Soudha Banquet Hall with Governor of Karnataka Sri Vajubhai Vala , Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka Dr Aswathanarayana presence and various categories winners were announced.
Mahesh Manjrekar’s Directed Marathi film “Panghrun” won First Best Indian Film Award.
Nagana Directed “Muniratna Kurushetra ” in 3D format was also screened & Won First Best Film Award under popular Entertainment Section.
Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar Produced & Hemanth Rao Directed “Kavaludari” walked away with First Best Film Award in Kannada section.
Other Films in various categories won awards were Malayalam film “Biriyaani” , Kannada Films Bell Bottom, Yajamana , Ranganayaki, Selfie mummy Googly Daddy”, Ondu Shikarya Kathe” Tulu Film “Pingaara” Chhattisgarhi language “The Dog & His Man” Bodo Language “Jwlwi – The Seed”.
