10th Edition of Bengaluru International Film Festival 2018 started with Grand opening function in front of dais created on Vidhana Soudha steps with Indian Cinema Diva “Kareena Kapoor Khan” as special invitee among other galaxy of dignitaries from Political , Government Officials and Film Fraternity from both India & International.
Due to Assembly sessions Chief Minister of Karnataka Sri. Siddharamiah could not present for the function but in his absence his cabinet colleagues Speaker D.H.Srikantha Murthy,Sri Roshan Baig , Sri H.M.Revanna ,chief Secretary Smt.Ratna Prabha IAS ,BBMP Mayor Sri Sampath Raj , Sri Basavaraj Horatti, KFCC President Sri S.R.Govind, KCA Chairman S.V.Rajendra Singh Babu, Film maker Sri Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra , Award-winning French filmmaker Marc Baschet (of the No Man’s Land fame), Iranian actor Fatemeh Motamed Arya were present on the stage. Rangi taranga Fame actress Radhika Chethan was present in assisting the lighting the lamp for second consecutive year.
Acclaimed film maker Rakesh Ompraksh Mehra praised the Government initiative and support for conducting Film Festival also shared that his wife is from Bengaluru city and he is son in law of the State.
Bollywood Diva Kareena kapoor Khan remembered her Late Grand father Sri.Raj Kapoor and said hope to entertain in Kannada Language one day.
Also various walks of life people witness the opening function and movie buffs can enjoy over 200 films in next one week at PVR Orion Mall and newly built Dr. Rajkumar Bhavan at Karnataka Film Artistes Association Buildings.
