Shri M.B. Patil, Hon’ble Minister for Large and Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development, Government of Karnataka chaired a high-level meeting today to review the preparations for the upcoming *‘Uthpadhana Manthana’, a two-day strategic conference scheduled for 30th and 31st May in Bengaluru.
Envisioned as a pivotal step towards realizing Karnataka’s ambition of becoming a global manufacturing powerhouse, the conference will convene top CEOs from the manufacturing sector and representatives from high-growth startups for intensive discussions. The goal: to craft a clear, actionable roadmap to boost the state’s investment appeal and drive long-term industrial growth.
“This conference will serve as a platform for strategic engagement with industry leaders and help define a forward-looking development blueprint across six high-potential manufacturing sectors,” said Minister M.B. Patil.
The six sectors that will be the focus of sector-specific deliberations are:
1. Aerospace and Defence, Space tech & Drones
2. Electronics (including components) and semiconductors
3. Capital Goods, Machine tools & Robotics
4. Auto/ Auto components & EV
5. Textiles (Materials, Technical, MMF)
6. Consumer Products (FMCG, Footwear, Toys
Industry leaders will contribute key insights and recommendations to inform policy and investment strategies. The outcome will be a sector-wise blueprint guiding the government’s proactive steps to accelerate industrial development and enhance Karnataka’s global competitiveness.
Officials underscored that close collaboration with industry stakeholders is central to framing impactful policies and initiatives, positioning Karnataka as a frontrunner in global manufacturing.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Selvakumar S., Principal Secretary, Industries Department; Smt. Gunjan Krishna, Commissioner for Industrial Development and Director, Industries and Commerce; Dr. Mahesh, CEO of KIADB; Shri Arvind Galgali, Technical Advisor to the Minister; and other senior officials.
