Inauguration Program

 

  • The Global Investors Meet – Invest Karnataka 2025 was inaugurated in the presence of by Shri Rajnath Singh ji, Hon’ble Defence Minister of India, Shri Siddaramaiah, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri Pralhad Joshi ji, Hon’ble Union Minister and several other dignitarieson 11th February 2025.

 

  • The event brought together a distinguished gathering of industry titans, including Mr. Anand Mahindra, Chairperson, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., Mr. Sajjan Jindal, Chairman, JSW Group, Ms. Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Chairperson & Founder, Biocon, Ms. Geetanjali Kirloskar, Chairperson & MD, Kirloskar Systems, etc.

 

  • The event witnessed remarkable investment commitments, with Karnataka securing MoUs worth INR 6.24L Cr., reinforcing its position as India’s most attractive investment destination. Notable among these were large-scale investments in renewable energy, infrastructure, and manufacturing. JSW Neo Energy Ltd – INR 56,000 Cr. investment for solar, wind, and battery energy storage projects, Baldota Steel & Power Ltd. – INR 54,000 Cr. for an integrated steel plant, etc.

 

  • Beyond these mega investments, the state also attracted strategic commitments from key global players in advanced manufacturing and technology. (E.g., Safran – INR 225 Cr. for avionics manufacturing, Schneider Electric – INR 2,247 Cr. for manufacturing of electrical products and R&D,Volvo – INR 1,400 Cr. for manufacturing of EV Trucks,Honda – INR 600 Cr. in electric vehicle manufacturing, etc.)

 

Industrial Policy Launch

 

  • The Government of Karnataka unveiled the New Industrial Policy 2025-30. Launched by Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, ShriD K Shivakumar, the policy aims to generate 20 lakh jobs and attract INR 7.5 lakh crore in investments. With a strong emphasis on sustainable manufacturing, advanced industries, and balanced regional development, the policy seeks to position Karnataka as a leader in Electronics System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM), Aerospace &Defense, Future Mobility, and Green Industry Practices. The policy also introducesbest-in-class incentives for logistics and warehousingfor the first time.

 

  • Key highlights of the policy include
    • Flexible subsidy options, allowing industries to choose between Production-Linked Incentives (PLI) and Capital Subsidies
    • Additional incentives for co-locating R&D and manufacturing units
    • Additional booster incentivespromoting higher female workforce participation
    • Sustainability-focused measures such as capital subsidies for green initiatives, Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD), and electrification of thermal processes
    • Higher incentives for Zone 1 & Zone 2 with more backward & most backward talukas as per Nanjundappa report receiving 3% and 5% additional incentives
    • Policy also expands Zone 1 coverage to 199 talukas, ensuring equitable industrial benefits across the state.

 

 

Single Window System Launch

 

  • Digital-first platformlaunched to streamline investment approvals and improve ease of doing business. Key features include:
    • 150+ business services integratedfrom 30+ state departments and agencies

 

  • Online Affidavit-Based Clearance (ABC) mechanism, allowing manufacturing investors to start preparatory activities based on an affidavit submission, reducing delays in project execution.

 

  • Integrated Land Management System for seamless access to Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) services such as land availability, allotment, and building plan approvals.

 

  • A GIS-Based Industrial Information System helps investors assess zoning and siting regulations before acquiring land.

 

  • Features like a Know-Your-Approval Wizard, an Incentive Wizard and Calculator, and Udyog Mitra Assistant (UMA)—an AI-powered chatbot for real-time multilingual assistance to enhance investor support.

LoI signed with Volvo Group to establish its 4th International Manufacturing Hub in Hoskote, Bangalore, marking a major milestone in Karnataka’s industrial growth. With an investment of INR 1,400 crore, this state-of-the-art facility will expand truck production capacity from 3,000 to 20,000 units annually, generate over 2,000 direct jobs.

In addition to this, the Government of Karnataka also met senior leaders from RTX, EU chamber of commerce, Watlow, Mereena Group, and many more.

It acts as a central hub for businesses to interact, share resources, and streamline their processes. By enabling connections and fostering collaboration, the portal supports SMEs in scaling their operations and positioning themselves as reliable vendors for larger organizations. One of the standout features of the portal is its AI-based matchmaking system, which intelligently connects buyers and sellers based on their requirements, capabilities, and business profiles. This advanced functionality ensures that SMEs find the most relevant opportunities, creating seamless and efficient linkages within the supply chain ecosystem.

Clean Mobility Policy Launch

 

Clean Mobility Policy was launched by Shri K J George, Hon’ble Energy Minister

 

Key Highlights of the Karnataka Clean Mobility Policy 2025-2030:

 

  • Massive Investment & Job Creation – The policy aims to attract ₹50,000 crore in investments across the clean mobility value chain, generating 1 lakh new jobs.

 

  • Attractive incentive package – Subsidy of upto 25% of the total invested capex across the state including Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural region (20% capex subsidy)

 

  • Strengthening Karnataka’s EV Leadership – Karnataka already has 2.5 lakh registered EVs and 5,403 EV charging stations, making it the third-highest EV adopter in India. The state plans to install 2,600 more charging stations in public-private partnerships.

 

  • Clean Mobility Clusters – The state will develop three world-class mobility clusters in Gauribidanur, Dharwad, and Harohalli, integrating OEMs, suppliers, R&D, and testing facilities to boost innovation and manufacturing.

 

  • Charging & Hydrogen Infrastructure – The policy introduces capital subsidies for fast-charging stations, battery-swapping networks, and hydrogen stations, ensuring a robust clean energy network across Karnataka.

 

  • Boosting Innovation & Skill Development – The state is partnering with global institutions and expanding EV-focused training programs in ITI, polytechnics, and universities to create a specialized workforce for the clean mobility sector.

 

Industry 4.0 Felicitation

 

As part of SME connect, Industry 4.0 training has been conducted by NASSCOM to ~2000 SMEs over 15+ districts. Industry 4.0 solutions are being implemented in 100 select SMEs

 

Few examples include

  1. AI-powered camera-based quality inspection for FRP tubes and polycarbonate goggles for compliance and automate QC
  2. Real-time monitoring of fish product yield, machine performance, and operator availability to optimize seasonal operations
  3. Automation of inventory and production processes to eliminate manual errors, improve tracking, and enhance operational efficiency

 

Some of these SMEs were recognized for early adoption of Industry 4.0 in their organizations.

VentuRISE has demonstrated unparalleled success in driving entrepreneurial innovation. The competition had 900 applications, and 170 startupswere invited to participate in the TGS 2024 VentuRISE track.
