Presented by Prashanth Neel, Kirtan Nadagouda’s directorial debut brings a fresh team of actors into the spotlight with a multi-language release.
In an industry increasingly driven by big budgets, established stars and larger-than-life spectacles, ‘418’ is looking to make its mark with a different approach. The horror thriller, presented by filmmaker Prashanth Neel, is reportedly mounted on a modest budget of approximately ₹6–8 crore, bringing together emerging talent for a story that aims to deliver an immersive cinematic experience without relying on star power.
Directed by Kirtan Nadagouda, who makes his directorial debut with the film, ‘418’ represents a significant step forward for a team of relatively fresh faces. The film features Chaithra Achar, Surya Raj Veerabathini, Shree Vaishnav, Charan Lakkaraju, Preethi Pagadala and Shashank Patil* in key roles, placing the emphasis on performance, atmosphere and storytelling.
What makes ‘418’ particularly interesting is its attempt to take a relatively small-budget production to a wider audience. The film is scheduled for a worldwide release on October 23 in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Hindi, marking an ambitious multi-language rollout for a debut directorial venture. Its release strategy also signals the makers’ intent to reach beyond a single-language market.
The project is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar, with Anil Yerneni as co-producer, under the Mythri Movie Makers banner. For the production house, known for backing major commercial entertainers, ‘418’ marks its first foray into horror.
For Kirtan Nadagouda, the film is an opportunity to step into the director’s chair after working alongside Prashanth Neel since Ugramm. For the cast, it offers a platform to reach audiences across multiple markets with a genre that often creates opportunities for new talent to stand out.
