Minister M.B. Patil strengthens ties with industry leaders in Denmark and Sweden to position Karnataka as a global hub for sustainability and innovation

In a continued effort to promote Karnataka as a global hub for innovation and industry, Hon’ble Minister for Large and Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development, Shri M.B. Patil, held a strategic roadshow in Denmark and Sweden to promote Karnataka as a preferred global investment destination. The Minister held high-level meetings with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP),FOSS, and Autoliv, positioning Karnataka as a hub for clean energy, innovation, and advanced manufacturing. During the meeting with CIP, the delegation was briefed on their ongoing investments in the state, including a 300 MW wind energy project in Gadag and two joint projects with AmpIn in Koppal—reinforcing Karnataka’s position as one of the largest wind energy market in India.

The Karnataka delegation’s engagement with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), a global leader in renewable energy investments, reaffirmed the state’s prominence in the sector. CIP emphasized that Karnataka remains a key focus for their India strategy and expressed interest in expanding further into renewable energy and energy storage. Shri M.B. Patil assured full cooperation and committed to working closely with the Energy Department to support CIP’s expansion plans.

Shri M.B Patil also held discussions with FOSS, a leading Danish technology company serving the global food and agricultural industry. With India identified as FOSS’ fastest-growing market, MB Patil encouraged the company to establish a manufacturing and R&D facility in the state. Karnataka’s new Industrial Policy and sector-specific incentives were also highlighted. FOSS expressed strong interest in exploring the opportunities offered by the state.

In Sweden, Shri M.B. Patil met with Autoliv, a global leader in automotive safety systems. The meeting with senior leadership, including Ms. Gabriella Etemad and Mr. Alexander Campbell-Wilson, highlighted Bangalore as the company’s key operational base in India. Autoliv expressed interest in exploring into motorcycle airbags and advanced safety technologies, aligned with evolving safety regulations in India. The Minister assured full support for any future investment plans in Karnataka.

The official delegation included Dr. Selvakumar S, IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of Commerce and Industries, and Smt. Gunjan Krishna, IAS, Commissioner for Industrial Development and Director, Department of Commerce and Industries were present during the meeting.
