The first-ever India edition of the International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition (IMECE) by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) will kickstart on September 10, 2025.
Shri Kondapalli Srinivas, Minister, MSME, Government of Andhra Pradesh will be the chief guest and address attendees on September 12 at the plenary panel at 10:30 AM. The event takes place at Hyderabad International Convention Center (HICC) from September 10 – September13. Bringing together leading innovators, academic experts, industry pioneers, and government leaders from across the globe, the congress committee reaffirms ASME IMECE’s position as the premier platform for interdisciplinary collaboration, knowledge exchange, and thought leadership in engineering.
Nearly 1,500 leading innovators, academic experts, industry pioneers, and government leaders from across the globe will soon gather in Hyderabad for the first-ever India edition of the International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition (IMECE) by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
The keynote roster features globally recognized leaders such as Dr. Babasaheb Kalyani, Managing Director, Bharat Forge Group, Mr. Tom Costabile, Executive Director & CEO, ASME, Dr. Lester K. Su, President, ASME (2025–2026), Dr. Kalaiselvi N., Director General, CSIR & Secretary, DSIR, and Mr. Pawan Kumar Chandana, Founder of Skyroot Aerospace.

IMECE India 2025 offers a dynamic series of panel discussions addressing some of the most pressing and transformative topics in the engineering landscape. Key themes include advancing research through the creation of robust and enabling architectures for rapid technology development and deployment and advancing new energy with a special emphasis on green hydrogen and clean energy infrastructure.
Other panels will deliberate on industry-oriented curriculum reforms, the integration of AI and machine learning, interdisciplinary and project-based learning, innovation and product development for startups, sustainability and green engineering, the Make in India initiative, and strategies to tackle workforce and technology adoption challenges faced by MSMEs.
The congress will also feature a landmark session titled “Turning the Gears: Women Shaping the Future of Mechanical Engineering” to spotlight leadership and gender parity within the profession.
Complementing the plenary sessions and panels will be a series of expert-led masterclasses offering practical insights and policy guidance for industrial growth and innovation. Notable sessions include “Technology Adoption and Government Support” by Dr. Kalaiselvi N., Director General of CSIR and Secretary, DSIR; “Telangana – The Destination for Industry” by Shri Sanjay Kumar, IAS, Special Chief Secretary, Industries & Commerce; and “MSME in Aerospace & Defence” by Dr. Kishora Shetty, Associate Technical Fellow at Boeing India. These sessions are designed to deliver actionable strategies and region-specific perspectives for businesses, researchers, and policymakers navigating India’s evolving engineering ecosystem.
