Priyank Kharge Minister for Electronics, IT/BT and Rural Development & Panchayat Raj Govt of Karnataka inaugurated India’s first state-level Centre of Excellence for Space Technology supported by the Department of Electronics, Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science & Technology GoK at the Aerospace Park in Bengaluru.
Karnataka has always been at the heart of India’s space journey and this CoE builds on that legacy. Space tech is a key pillar of our deeptech stack and through our Deeptech Decade Program we are making a focused push across both upstream and downstream segments
The ecosystem is already here. The policy is here. The talent is here. The institutions are here. The infrastructure is here. This CoE brings it all together for Karnataka to lead the next phase of space innovation he mentioned.
At the inaugural, MoUs were exchanged between the CoE and partners including Dassault Systèmes, MAHE, ABLE, Helogen Corporation and IdeaBaaz to drive research in space biotech and microgravity, enable industry collaboration, build talent pipelines and support startups with training, visibility and market access.
