Jio MAMI 18th Mumbai Film Festival with Star 2016 sub event movie mela curated by Shakun Batra hosted a Talk show titled on the sets with the Directors with Critics Rajeev Masand & Anupama chopra in conversations with the Film Directors Vishal Bhardwaj, Zoya Akthar, Shoojit Sircar, Gauri Shinde and Rohit Shetty.
All the Directors shared their first breaks,struggles,approach, preparations,journeys and their perceptions towards critically and commercial acclaim of their films.
The session was very lively and witty and was enriching and learning for many aspiring film makers and acting talents attended the event.
Vishal Bhardwaj talked about his passion for William Shake sphere whose 3 works he has adapted to films and confessed that none of his films made profits as per his producers and trade pundits.
Zoya Akthar talked about how travelling makes very integral part of her life and her films.
Gauri Shinde talked about her debut film English Vinglish which was every connecting plot among many middle class Indian Audience and how Sridevi agreed to part of it.
Shoojit Sircar talked about his passion for Sports like Football and films he believes which has strong contents and out of box thinking.
Rohit Shetty spoke about his Golmaal Series,Action scenes and car blows in his films which is attraction mainly to kids & what went wrong with his last film Dilwale.
Among many audience questions for one of the common topic all the directors agreed that whether film success or failures it is always struggle to get producer convinced for each and next film.
