First Animation in Kannada Film Industry

First Animation in Kannada Film Industry …?

All know about Film Passion , Dare devil adventure nature of Actor & Film Maker veteran BS Dwarkish

When he himself Produced and turned Hero with film “Kula Agent 000” Directed by KSL Swamy [ Ravi ] in early 1970 all know the major highlight of the film he brought Legendary Star Hindi Singer Kishore Kumar to Kannada Film Industry to sing “ Aadu Atta Aadu “ Song which still today remembered & played across all platforms penned by Chi Udayshankar & Music by Rajan Nagendra.

Till today that is the one & only song in Kannada of Late Kishore Kumar.

But what if noticed another highlight & if right this also happens to be First Kannada Film to use animations / cartoons in the title cards.

Since Animations or Cartoons where separate category of films / contents mainly catered for Children’s popular in west with Walt Disney, MGM etc or any Government’s Social messages.

In non- animation feature films, the usage of cartoons / animation was used mostly in title cards , sequences or songs for the film makers own creativity or special reasons.

In India for Non animation Films again if right first used in Title cards by Prakash Mehra in his film “ Hassena Maan Jayegi” staring Shashi Kapoor & Babita.

This was done by Animator Late Ram Mohan who is known as father of animation in India.

Looks like this inspired Dwarkish to incorporate in his film which was done by “Satrang” in Madras

And the title cards used animation serves as synopsis / summary of the film which later many & todays film makers uses as their story board / pre visuals in today’s digital & Vfx era.

But in one way thanks to today’s fingertip electronic & social media because for many years there was thought or assumption that Super Star Rajnikanth’s “Raja China Roja” Tamil film produced by AVM productions in Mid 80’s was First Indian film in song to use animations /cartoons technology.

Later, similar kind in song was also used in Suresh Productions Telugu Film “Bobili Raja” staring Victory Venkatesh & Divya Bharthi .

But big cheers to Dwarkish if this happens to be First Kannada film to use animation if right
