Auteur Anurag Kashyap talked at IFFK 2022 in which he mentioned todays Hindi Films have lost its ground and today South Indian Films are doing good & meaningful ones.
Further he also added that Malayalam films are experimenting with lot of content driven & Telugu Films are doing extremely well at Box office Theatrical Collections than Hindi Films.
Anurag also mentioned OTT platforms belongs todays generation for which prior generation like me are naïve.
Responding to my question as Hindi Films which once know for its beautiful & melodious song today not using & restricted only for promotional & title credits on Youtube , Kashyap told to some extent good as film makers started telling stories without songs but feels in some film makers like Vishal Bhardwaj always expects to be songs in their films.
Also responding to another question of Acting or Directing any films in South Indian Languages include Malayalam Anurag responded though he get lot of acting offers even from Lijo Jose Pellissery but refused to do. It may be noted earlier Anurag acted as antagonist in year 2018 Tamil Film “Imaikkaa Nodigal” staring Lady Super Star Nayanthara.
