15th Bengaluru International Film Festival –BIFFES – Logo Unveil

The 15th edition of Bengaluru International Film Festival will be held in Bengaluru. The opening event will be held on the evening of Thursday, February 29, 2024 in the presence of National and International delegates, Film makers and other Celebrities at the Grand Steps of Vidhana Soudha, Bengaluru and will be inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka, Sri Siddaramaiah.

The Closing Ceremony and award distribution on the evening of Thursday March 07, 2024, will be held at the Banquet Hall, Vidhana Soudha and His Excellency; the Governor of Karnataka Sri Thawar Chand Gehlot will present the awards to the winners of the Competitions under Asian, Indian and Kannada films Sections.

More than 200films from about 50 countries, in various sections like, Films selected in the Competition Sections (Asian, Indian (Chitra Bharati), Kannada), Contemporary Cinemas of the world, Popular Entertainment Kannada Cinemas, Critics week, Bio –pics, films from the focus country, films made in little known Indian dialects, films in Retrospective, Homages & Remembrance, Curated Thematic Films on Human Rights and Values and Curated Section on a Special Theme – Suvarna Karnataka –‘Karnataka 50’/90 kannada Cinemas will be screened in the festival. Regular screenings for the Delegates will commence from March 01 to 7, 2024 at  11 screens – PVR Cinemas – ORION MALL, Rajaji nagar, Kalavidara Sangha Dr. Raj Kumar Auditorium at Chamarajpet and Suchitra Film Society auditorium Banshankari II stage.

Workshops on Editing, Scriptwriting, Sound design, Art/production Design, Panel discussions on Human Rights & Values representation in films, Discourse on Gender sensitivity, Panel discussion on Suvarna Karnataka Sambhrama & 90 years of Kannada Cinema, Music in cinema – Panel discussion, Mrinal Sen centenary tribute lecture, Dadasaheb Phalke Awardee Cinematographer Late VK Murthy annual memorial lecture on Cinematography, Artificial Intelligence [ AI ] application in cinema are some of the programs held during the Festival.

Online Delegate registration will commence from February 15, 2024 and cine enthusiasts can register through our official website biffes.org. Delegate fee:  Rs. 800/- for General public, and Rs 400/- for Students, Film Society members, Senior citizens and film fraternity.
