Kush Maini delivered one of the standout performances of his Formula 2 career at the Home of British Motorsport this weekend, claiming a podium finish in the Feature Race at Silverstone Circuit and announcing himself well within the Drivers’ Championship battle heading into the second half of the 2026 season, while older brother Arjun secured his first podium of the 2026 DTM season.
The ART Grand Prix driver arrived at Silverstone having qualified third for the Feature Race, a result that placed him eighth on the Sprint Race grid on Saturday, owing to the reversed grid format. The sprint race on Saturday was a masterclass in racecraft: Maini carved through the field with precision and composure, gaining four positions across the race to finish fourth. The drive was a quiet statement, not a headline result on paper, but the kind of performance that defines a driver’s character at a circuit as unforgiving as Silverstone.
Sunday’s Feature Race, however, was anything but quiet. Starting from third on the grid, Maini produced a blistering launch off the line, seizing the lead before the first turn had been cleared. For a significant stretch of the race, it was Kush Maini at the front of the Formula 2 field at Silverstone, showcasing a blend of outright pace, tyre management, and race intelligence that drew attention from every corner of the paddock. Following his pit stop, Maini engaged in an intense battle with the Formula 2 Championship leader, producing notable bouts of wheel-to-wheel racecraft and resolute defense before ultimately crossing the line in third, a result that was every bit as hard-earned as it was deserved.
The podium moves Kush Maini to sixth in the Drivers’ F2 Championship standings, just six points outside the top five, a position that few would have predicted at the start of the season and one that underlines the cumulative momentum he has built across the campaign.
“Really happy with how the weekend has gone. Missed out on a double podium weekend by a small margin, but big points going into the second half of the season. Big thanks for all the support from everyone back home and JK Tyre and TVS Racing for supporting my journey,” said Maini after his second podium of the 2026 F2 season.
Maini’s Silverstone double delight coincided with older brother, Arjun Maini’s first podium for Ford Mustang of his ongoing DTM season in Race 1 in Norisring. Arjun, racing as a Ford factory driver for HRT demonstrated excellent qualifying pace, on Saturday and Sunday resulting in a P3 Start on Both Days.
While Arjun managed the Podium on Saturday. He finished P4 on Sunday in a Race that Brought out the Rain and the Red Flag. Arjun driving with a 5 kg Extra Ballast due to the win on Saturday managed to keep excellent pace throughout the race.
