Kannada Film Industry contributions to Ramayana story in 7 minutes song to now ready for Global Theatrical release in two parts of 5 duration hours shot on IMAX.
The Kannada & Karnataka people from almost last 7 decades listening to the song “Ramana Avatara” song from the 1958 film Black and White Film of AVM Productions “Bhookailasa” which depicts entire “Ramanaya” story in 7 minutes song written by Ku.Ra.Seetharama Sastry [ Ku.RA.Sree. ] and Music by .R Sudarsham & R.Govardhan, Sung by Shirkali Govindarajan. Dr Rajkumar who was in his initial career journey played the role of “Ravana” which tell the story’s of how Lord Shiva’s Atma Linga” taken as boon by Ravana was made to retain by Lord Ganesha at the Karnataka’s “Gokarna” which now sacred Hindu Temple.

After this film release the “Ramana Avatara” became unofficial anthem song on “Ramanavami” & other important festivals even today.
Eminent Scholars ,Philosophers , Literary figures and even Film Industry Music stalwarts like Late S.P.Balasubramaniyam,Hamsalekha etc on many occasions spoke about this song telling entire Ramayana Story in 7 minutes as strength and pride of Kannada Language and its lyricist.
Now once again after 7 decades Kannada Film Industry origin Rocking Star Yash who completed 18 years of his film career and 8+ years of his PAN-INDIA stardom with “KGF” chapter-1 now taken another step forward with Playing as “Ravana” and also as Co-Producer with upcoming “Ramayana” Film shot on IMAX to be released in two parts including English language for Diwali Festivals for the years 2026 & 2027.
The Trailer event was held in New Delhi in India & USA’s San Diego “Comic Con” 2026 with lead team participating mainly Ranbir Kapoor who playing “Rama” along with Yash who playing “Ravana” and also Co-Producer , Director Nitish Tiwari and Lead Producer Namit Malhotra who also founder & Head of Globally leading VFX Studios “DNEG”.
The 4 minutes trailer is now globally trending from its last week digitally launched on all leading social media platforms is praised and draws the attention of “Yash as Ravana”
Film Music by Academy and many other International Award winners Music Composers “Hans Zimmer and A.R.Rahaman.
The Global Theatrical Rights of the “Ramayana” is acquired by Sony Pictures and Indian Theatrical Distribution by Karan Johars “Dharma Productions” which also has stake by Adar Poonawalla.
The Films Production and its Marketing Budget what doing rounds if its true a new benchmark in the Indian Film Industry.
All above names to work or partnering was just a dream in Kannada Film Industry which now turned into reality.
In the last one decade the Kannada Film Industry reached its global heights and attention span with the Films like “KGF and Kanthara” series and hope this momentum continues with Yash’s upcoming films like “Toxic” and Ramayana.
